Narumugaye, here the poet here compares a flower with a girl's womanhood.🌹

⚫ நறு - என்பது பல பொருள் கொண்ட ஓர் உரிச்சொல்.

இதன் பொருள் - நல்லது , சிறந்தது, சுவையானது, தூய்மையானது.

அரும்பின் மூன்று நிலைகள்: நனை, 

முகை, மொக்குள்.

மலர்கள் அனைத்தும் மணம் மிக்கவை,

மணம் பரப்புபவை. பொதுவாக மல்லிகை மலர் அதன் நறுமணத்தை இரவு நேரங்களில் வெளியிடுகிறது. அதிலும் குறிப்பாக அவை முகை என்ற பருவத்தை அடையும் போது அதிக நறுமணத்தை பரப்புகின்றன.

⚫ முகை - ஒரு பூவின் மொட்டு க்கு முந்தைய நிலை.🌷 

மொட்டுகள் மலர்ந்தால் மட்டுமே மணம் வீசும். கவிஞர் இங்கு அவளின் இளமை குறித்து குறிப்பட "நறுமணம் வீசும் முகையே"- என்பதை சுருக்கி "நறுமுகை" என்றார்.. இது ஒரு சங்க இலக்கியச் சொல். மிக மிக பழமையானச் சொல்!

திருமகனே திருமகனே, நீ ஒரு நாழிகைப் பாராய்..

வெண்ணிறப் புரவியில் வந்தவனே, வேல்விழி மொழிகள் கேளாய்..

Oh man who came on that white horse..

Would you not listen to my spear-eyed words,

அற்றைத் திங்கள் அந்நிலவில் கொற்றப் பொய்கை ஆடுகையில் 

ஒற்றை பார்வை பார்த்தவனும் நீயா?
