Why reversed ?  The song is beautifully shot in reverse direction and still maintains the elegance and richness of human expression. Is this what people tell conveying the story through camera? Maybe! :) Mani Ratnam needed a strong tool to convey the context through a subtle way. And here comes reversing the actions. This gives the sense of poetry, sense of anti-gravity, sense of liberation (which is the situation) Songs are widely considered to be a breather time admist the story when people can relax themselves. Generally, Raja sir used to create 4 to 5 tunes for a situation and the director has to pick the tune they want. So, what happened here? Evano Oruvan - Decoding the lyrics! The song uses the flute heavily as a metaphor in the lyrics which leads some to analyse this as a sort of Krishna/Radha reference! 🌹(Comparison) எவனோ ஒருவன் வாசிக்கிறான்.. இருட்டில் இருந்து நான் யாசிக்கிறேன்.. Nallai Allai is a mesmerising piece of work from the trio Mani Ratnam - AR Rahman - Vairamuthu and this particular word "Nallai Allai" kept on ringing in our ears, when the song released. Eventhough we never knew it's meaning, we kept on singing it, humming it. Isn't this the time to know it's real meaning? Here we go. The word, Nallai Allai is a usage from Kurunthogai , written 2000 years back. Song 47, carries a line "நல்லையல்லை நடுவெண்ணிலவே" It also takes place in Kambaramayanam , மந்தரை சூழ்ச்சி படலம் - "எனக்கு நல்லையும் அல்லை நீ" The poet personifies the girl as the Moon, Night and Jasmine flower. Theme : A guy who is left searching for his lady love.  🔴As the boy searches, the girl keeps taking different forms.
